The gre-prep egroup is a group that believes that through mutual interaction, all of us can improve our english language skills. If you also share the same ideology, then go ahead and request to be a member of this group.
Due to the commitment of the group towards its goal, we have set out certain rules (called The Decalogue - John Borup). These rules must be agreed upon and must be adhered to, if you want to enjoy the fruits of our group. The rules are:-
1. Purpose is to develop and maintain language ability in American and British english for adult, alien EFL/ESL/GRE-people.
2. The group has no political, religious, business, or sexual purpose, which does not mean that such subjects should be taboo.
3. Max number of members : 30 or 40 (?)
4. No more than 2 (?) members from the same country
5. No members with American or English as their mother tongue.
6. Main basis for group communication is daily news from InfoBeat. Subscription (free) is a condition for membership. Otherwise each member is free to communicate all legal topics at his/her discretion.
7. Before a new membership can be accepted, the person must fulfill conditions as mentioned here, and furthermore write a personal presentation letter to the group.
8. If a member has not posted one single message within any period of 14 days, and has made no notice on beforehand about the reason, such a member must leave the group.
9. Re-membership is possible, but should be treated as a new membership.
10. Objections and proposals are supposed to undergo democratic treatment, but in case of unsolved dispute and in case of non-adherence to these main rules, the Groupleader (Karve) is the only authority.
